Amazing news for those needing more than the previous maximum of 10 Medicare sessions
per year - the latest Federal budget sees an increase to 20 sessions effective immediately. This will continue in 2021.
This is will make a huge difference to some clients and families who either could not afford the treatment they needed or were severely strapped by the financial burden of psychological treatment.
I had stopped taking new clients for the rest of 2020 as things were getting busy. I expect with the new 20-session limit, my schedule will book up. So, if you've hit your 10-session calendar year limit, see your GP for a referral (another Mental Health Plan is not required, although your GP may choose to update yours).
